Welcome to the Vale Inco Supplier information site. As with all large integrated metals companies, suppliers play a key role in the success of our day-to-day efforts here at Vale Inco.

We are making a major change in our systems and processes with the introduction of Oracle software to conduct our Finance and Procurement activities. The work is being undertaken through an exhaustive and detailed approach called ELO Project and will result in significant changes to our existing practices and procedures.

Through this interactive site we will introduce you to the new software that will be employed by Finance and Procurement and hopefully answer the questions that one would expect to arise from a major change such as this. Although we expect the site to answer many of your concerns and questions, if doubts still remain after visiting our information site, you will be able to contact us to obtain further clarification.

As I mentioned earlier the change to Oracle software through the ELO Project is a large software change that has been in the planning and execution phases for many months. It will impact our Operations across North America from our Voisey’s Operations in Newfoundland and Labrador to our Thompson Operations in Manitoba and includes the Corporate Office in Toronto, our Projects and Research groups at Sheridan Park and of course Operations in Ontario, at Port Colborne and Sudbury. Considerable work has gone into attempting to anticipate all the problems and challenges that may arise, but with projects of this size, one can expect the occasional surprise that was not expected and therefore not planned for.

As a result we ask for your patience and understanding in advance and we commit to dealing with whatever challenges that arise in an efficient and professional manner. For example, should we experience glitches with the software during the release and receipt of supplies and services, we will create, with your help, alternate processes that guarantee supply and ensure payment.

As valued partners in the supply chain, you have worked with us over the years to fine tune our practices and procedures and I know we can count on your support and understanding through the early phases of our cutover to a standardized software that is being rolled out throughout Vale Inco, beginning with our North American Operations.
